Submission of Applications Begins for the First Open Competition for Young Designers

The submission of applications for the first open competition for young designers, "New Image," has begun in Moscow. The competition aims to showcase the creative potential of emerging architects and designers. This was announced by Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

"The competition will serve as a platform where young talents can not only express themselves but also gain the opportunity to bring their ideas to life on a citywide scale. Students of specialized universities, young architects, and professionals under the age of 30 are eligible to participate. The winners will receive cash prizes, commemorative diplomas, and the opportunity to realize their projects. The total prize fund amounts to four million rubles," said Vladimir Yefimov.

Participants will be tasked with reimagining the appearance of urban facilities and proposing fresh solutions in four categories: "New Image of a City Governance Institution," "New Image of a Departmental Administrative Institution," "New Image of a Healthcare Institution," and "New Image of a Physical Culture and Wellness Institution."

Applications for the competition and project development can be submitted until May 15. From May 16 to June 25, young professionals will take part in working meetings and workshops, where they will be able to refine their ideas under the guidance of experts.

"This competition is an important step in engaging young people in the development of the city. We look forward to bold ideas that will help make Moscow even more comfortable and modern. Project presentations before the competition jury will take place in early July, and on July 6, Architect’s Day, the awards ceremony for the winners will be held," said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Capital’s Department of Urban Planning Policy.
